Originally I gave Goldie SOME credit because it appeared he knew people did not want to see this. But now they want to chove this piece of junk down our throats and expect us to pay. Screw these greedy SOB's. Damn them.

Without question, the money would be right in a fight against Cotto too. Yes, it would be less than fighting Oscar, but it would be a good payday.
Its not a surprise from Oscar's side, he gets a low-risk gift shot he doesnt deserve against the top ranked fighter.Comment

He is a one-punch monkey, his right hand is a joke and his body shots are nothing.Comment

De la Hoya could loose 10 straight and some dimwitts here would still keep paying 55 bucks to see him fight.Comment

De La-Hoya-Mayweather II is Close To Done
The most profitable bout in boxing history is about to get a second run. Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, told boxing scribe Dan Rafael that a rematch between Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30KOs) and WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25KOs) is close to being finalized. Mayweather won a close split-decision over De La Hoya to win the WBC junior-middleweight title on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [details]Comment

I guess... I usually don't consider assured losses as good opportunities, regardless of the payday.
And you KNOW that the money is not as good for a Cotto fight. De La Hoya has too many fans... for hardcore fans, it's Cotto, for everyone else, it's Oscar.Comment

Cotto is one of the biggest stars in the sport, dummies.
What does that mean?
We barely have any stars. All of the established guys are on their way out. With the exception of a few.
Cotto would bring at least 10+ mill to mayweather. Me thinks probably around 15 mill.Comment

Oscar doesnt care about losing, he will pretty much fight anyone, anytime. By low-risk, I mean low-risk that he will be hurt.
Floyd said he would fight if the money is right. The cotto money is right. If thats not good enough for him-the same money that other top fighters would dream of- then its pretty obvious why he chooses to price himself out of true competition in the welterweight division.
If this fight actually happens, it would be pretty clear to me that Floyd is more interested in cashing out of boxing than any legacy, and the Boxing Hall of Fame should take this into consideration when they reject him from the Hall year after year after year.Comment
