With their showdown now only days away, and in the spirit of a fight that celebrates yesterday as much as, probably more than, tomorrow, it’s a fitting time to take a look at the careers of Roy Jones Jr. and Felix “Tito” Trinidad. Specifically, this is a look at the broader view of their accomplishments and how those rate historically in the divisions they have fought in over the years. Having looked at Tito yesterday, it turns now to the three divisions where Roy bears examination. [details]

whoever wrote that article is crazy! Joe Clazagne is a better 168 than roy jones and roy is no less than 20th on a pound 4 pound ranking. Thats absurd everyone he fought prior to heavyweight he killed em it didnt matter who he fought he beat em n beat em clean n easy. Roy jones is the best light heavyweight, super middleweight, n top 3 best middleweights of all time n people are really underestimating him now that he 39 n has taken 2 good shots to the head. I still cant believe they had the nerve to s say joe over roy that is hilarious they cant have any boxing knowledge just quit writinComment

[QUOTE=tysonjones;3048781]I dont think anyone could of beat rj at 168 in his prime. Just an opinion.[/QUOTE Very true.I agree 100%.As Far as Saturday night Is concerned most people are not giving Tito a chance and are predicting a quick knockout by Jr.I think this Is a mistake and I hope Jr Is not underestimating Trinidad. If Roy drops his hands and lays on the ropes as he did with Tarver you can believe he will eat a Tito left hook and at this point In his career I am not sure Roy can take to many of those. In conclusion by looking at the recent photos of Roy he looks to be In awesome shape and ready to go so you have to give the edge to Roy.Comment

Roy Jones @ 168 probably one of the best ever not only because he didn't stick around long enough to be vulnerable. He did in James Toney when Toney was near or at the top of the P4P lists. At 175 he was as dominant as a champion should be during their prime years. There was never a close fight and even with the loss to Ice Griffin, Roy rates favorably in any top 30 or even 20 greatest of all time. Roy is at the stage now where everything he does good will only add to his already magnificent legacy anything bad will be passed off as age.Comment

I'm so tired of hearing the Dariusz Michalczewski argument.
Bottom line is he didn't and never has fought outside of Germany/Poland, Roy Jones was the IBF/WBC/WBA Light Heavyweight Champion, Michalczewski only had the WBO belt, and in my opinion it was on him to come over here, not for Roy Jones to go over there.
Which is exactly what Roy Jones said in regards to Calzaghe:
"If I got the titles, he has to come and get it, but he's got the titles so I have to go and get it."
As for the Hopkins being green, so was Roy. Even as a commentator Roy was able to see the things Hopkins was doing/setting up before he even did it, and he never had the two things that might have been able to beat Roy Jones, work rate or power.Comment
