Witter Ready To Face Hopkins, 3/22 on HBO

WBC junior welterweight champion Junior Witter (36-1, 21KOs) will finally get the American exposure he's been looking to secure. According to a recent interview in Sky Sports, Wiiter will defend his title against unbeaten Demetrius Hopkins (28-0, 11KOs) on March 22 in America. [details]

This is Witter's chance at redemption. If he bores D-Hop to a 12 round decision his American career is over...

The winner should get a fight with Ricky Hatton.

Witter knows he has to impress the American public to put pressure on Paulie and Hatton. It should be a pretty good bout.

This isnt a good fight for Witter, D-hop is a counterpuncher like Witter and Witter needs someone who would chase him for him to counter at will.

D-hop isnt going to do that and i can see this fight been cagey and i wouldnt be surprise if Witter is robbed like they did Steve Forbes.

So I'm taking it that this is an undercard for Katsidis-Casamayor? I never found out if HBO was taking that fight or not but I can only assume. I'm very excited for this if it is. Also, anyone know where the hell this fight is taking place?

Not sure what to make of Witter. Seen him quite a few times and sometimes he looks awful but then does show flashes of brilliance. This should answer a lot of questions.

I totaly agree,it might end up like the Corley fight, with both fighters just looking at eachover and trying to counter eachover, and if it is which it will, the American public will boo all over it,Witter needs a pressure fighter
