Ruiz vs. McCline: who will win?

I wouldn't necessarily call McCline overweight, he is just a huge dude. He used to be 280 lbs.
But because of this he will never have enough conditioning to beat a top heavyweight unless he can get rid of them in the first few rounds, something he seems unable to do.
Ruiz will win because he seems motivated to win the title back again for the third time.
I just wonder if he can avoid McCline's uppercuts for the first few rounds with his head down & clinch style...
Ruiz hasn't been this down in weight since the Roy Jones & Holyfield fights.Last edited by TheGreatA; 03-07-2008, 02:01 PM.Comment

Some parts from a Ruiz interview:
"I feel like this is my last hurrah," said the former two-time World Boxing Association heavyweight champion and former Chelsea, Mass., resident. "You're going to see a new Ruiz, more aggressive."
"I've been working hard in the gym. Twice as hard as I usually train."
With a relatively new trainer, Manny Siaca, pushing him hard and a new attitude, Ruiz wants to win back the media and the fans who say he's boring. Too much jab and grab, too little action. Even Ruiz acknowledges it.
"I heard it," he said with a smile. "For me at the time, it was what I needed to do to win the fight. It worked at those times. I'm going to get away from the Ruiz they know."
The bout will be fought at a bullring, Plaza de Toros de Cancun, and, said Ruiz, "I'm going to be like a bull running into the ring."
Ruiz has slipped off the radar screen of most boxing fans. But he's a proud man. Unlike some champions, he's never ducked a worthy opponent.

Anything over 250 is overweight for McCline, it's disappointing because he has talent and could have been more successful if he stayed in shape. At 250 he wouldn't have gassed so easily and would have defeated Sam Peter.Comment
