When you throw a hook, you are taking your arm a little back to get more power in, buts thats a mistake. You give your opponent too much time to see your punch. Don't know how to describe it properly in english.
Use your hips more, especially when you throw a jab, it will increase your range and power. You could also add little more head movement.
Make a video, where we can see your feet, that would help.
