No1 here seems to be giving any top fighter his credit.
Floyd is over rated, calzaghe is over rated , roy is over rated, hopkins is over rated, de la hoya is over rated.
      All boxers are over rated...
Therefore all boxers are just average boxers.
Learn to accept boxers' talent and move on..
what good fights were Mayweather and Hopkins and even De La Hoya ever in? The last good one was Quartey maybe, last dominant performance against Mayorga?

Oh yeah Hopkins De La Hoya against each other. That was one for the ages. Mayweather against De La Hoya as well.

You're right, every boxer is overrated by their hardcore fans. What bothers me are the ones who are overrated by the supposedly unbiased boxing media.
I couldn't agree more, its all on perceptions of hardcore fans for and against a boxer and biased media

He wa a good amature I guess, He won the national golden gloves at least once but he gets so much publicity and hype but he's in such horrible fights. However, he did KO Killer Kodrington.

sorry for picking on you but I had to do it.
Lol, I wouldn't give a ****, but I have heard that from multiple people.

I haven't heard a single good thing about Green on this board to be honest.

To be honest, its not so much as people calling someone overrated because the boxer TRULY is overrated, or because they TRULY look at the boxer's skill and conclude that he is overrated. Most of the time, its only just about not liking the boxer's personality. Or if the boxer beat your favorite boxer. Or simply because that boxer is at the top and people are just plain jealous of him. In other words, BIASNESS is what corrupts all of us.

No matter what Mayweather does today and in the future, what Calzaghe does today and in the future, what Pacquiao does today and in the future, what Pavlik does today and in the future, etc etc etc. there will ALWAYS be doubters who would call them overrated irregardless of how good they really are and how many great opponents they've fought. My dad told me once that even the great Ali was more hated than liked when he was in the ring. Even after beating Frazier, Foreman and all the greats and being a 3-time World Heavyweight Champion, there was always doubters who ripped through Ali and labeled him as nothing special. Only when he retired did a lot of people "suddenly" realized how great he really was

Its the truth, Folks. We will always find excuses to bring people down. That's our sad nature as human beings. We will always pull down people who are more successful than us or our loved ones, our friends, our favorite boxer, actor, actress, rock band, rapper, etc etc etc. I for one am guilty of doing that many, many times.

I'd say the current Winky Wright is underrated too.

Everyone thinks he is 100% done.

That's because he became "shot" every time he lost a match.

                      I agree about Barrera.

I'd also say Morales was not overrated.
