joans speed and skills got him a UD against the power puncher humberto soto.
joan came in fightnight at 148lbs. and he brought up his speed and skills.

jmm ,pac and others make more money fighting each other than facing the dangerous guzman.
It's a shame, but your right that's why he doesn't get the big fights. He's simply to high of a risk for low reward.

          Arthur has very little chance.

I've been following Alex's career for about 6 years now and he definatly deserves a shot at a world title, its a shame its against one of the most talented fighters around at the moment. I don't give Alex much of a chance but this is boxing and you never know what can happen. Arthur has heavy hands and hopefully has the ability to give Guzman's chin a test.

To be fair, Arthur has earned his chance at this, working his way up through the rankings, and he's ISTR European champion now? (Should have looked it up, sorry).

That's the way boxing works... people move up, get a shot.

THAT SAID.... I give Arthur a 11% chance of winning.

just checked out arthur on youtube.
boy he wouldnt have a chance against guzman.
his record looks good until you realize all he's been fighting is second and third tier eurotypes.

feel sorry for arthur if this fight comes about.
this is sort of a chop for guzman to fight this poor guy.

Guzman has had poor management petty much his entire career. Just compare his record (28-0), to Soto's (43-6-2), and they turned pro the same year. Time is running out for Guzman........

                    there, fixed.

I agree with you, but Jose has always done right by him. The moment Guzman dumped that other cats that stirred up **** with the WBO, he cleared his name quite a bit. Activity has always been his biggest killer, but of course, it's tough to stay active when nobody wants to fight you.

But that said, every payday Guzman's received since Nunez has taken over the mgmt. reigns in Dec. 2004 has been career highs, and also finally helped free himself from the zillions of promoters claiming to have paper on him. Now it's only down to two, LOL... Sycuan and Golden Boy. Plus, between Guzman's title status and Jose's efforts, the Dominican Republic was able to play host to its biggest fight card in years when Joan returned late in 2006.

Hopefully something big will happen in 2008. Pac-Marquez II will determine 130 lb. supremacy (barring another draw), but the winner already has their rightful #1 contender in Guzman. With Golden Boy having a piece of all three, there's no reason for it to not happen before years end
