No...he beat him twice, stopping him once. He didn't get lucky, he's just got Forrest's number.

You hit the nail right on the head. Forrest, is modern boxings Kenny Norton. He only beat Mosley out of the great fighters and he got handed a huge gift against a former great Quartey. At his age and with his lackluster performances against his recent opponents etc he will have a tough time securing a big fight or winning one at that.

White Hope, there's a few reasons why he doesnt get the credit. 1st off before Shane he was undefeated but had a horrible resume. Not to brag but I have a pretty good eye for talent and I picked him to beat Shane when most thought Shane would destroy him. After he beat Shane twice he got a ton of credit but then in your next fight you get KO? You lose a ton of credibility. You come back in the rematch and lose again. On top of that alot of people like Mayorga but no one thought he has the kind of skills to beat a guy like Vernon and not only does he lose one but he loses twice to a guy like that while looking scared in the process.

After that he was gone for forever and when he came back he got a gift over Ike. What has he really done but beat Shane? When you watch him fight you can say that he's easily one of the best but you have to prove it in the ring. That goes back to the Mayorga fight. If you watch both of them then you would say its no contest and that Vernon would kill him but then the fight happeneds and he gets punked twice. How can you give him the benefit of the doubt after that.

Me personaly, I think he's highly skilled and a beast but your hyping him way too much. Im a huge Floyd fan but I do think he gives Floyd hell, only because of the natural size however. In a P4P sense I think Floyd is much better. I think he gets killed by the other guys you named. Winky is bigger then him and has the still to shut him out. If Ike can do it and Ike fights sort of like Winky but isnt as good, what makes you think Vernon can beat him? Then you have to realize that both Pavlik & Taylor are way too big. Im a fan of boxers and I thought Spinks did well against Taylor but I definatly didnt have him winning like some others. He ran most of the time and wasnt really landing anything after the 6th. Most of all, styles make fights. Vernon is a great boxer but its totally different from the way Spinks fights. Spinks is a southpaw that is going to move away from you all fight. Vernon is a righty which is much easier for Taylor to find and he doesnt fight in that Sweet Pea/Spinks type way where he's always on the move and going away. Taylor would find him and stop him easily and Pavlik would kill him. If Mayorga can do it then you know those guys can. I would pick him over every WW out there right now though, not named Floyd. He has to get a fight with them and then he will get his respect

This sounds about right, but it's more than that. Forrest isn't a ticket seller, in fact his promoter vowed he'd never again book Forrest in his native GA because he isn't very popular there. He's not fan-friendly and has been standoffish with the media, like a young Michael Moorer.

He's an extraordinary talent cut down by injuries and it's a shame he never fulfilled his potential. He needs a megafight this year because it won't come after 2008.
