Ko Power when Moving up in weight

Ko Power when Moving up in weight ,anybody get the feeling that it is a myth that people dont carry there power up with them ,if u look at most fighters that go up in weight they tend to change thier style & adopt a more cautious aproach due to the knowledge they have that the other guy probably has more power to hurt them than did the guys at the natural weight

Floyd Knocked people out when he was a super featherweight but has fought very cautiously since moving up

Nigel Benn changed to a more meassured aproach after the defeats to Eubank & Watson he was content to Box a little more rather than go straight in thier for a tear up IE Henry Wharton ,Chris Eubank 2 etc

Tito has power all the way to Middleweight but he does'nt exactly fight conservative or cautiously maybe thats why he was still knocking them out at MW

Heans was another that did'nt hold back no matter what weight he was fighting at & he was knocking Cruiserweights over

Michael Moorer was a good puncher at Heavyweight

Pacquiao did'nt start out as a natural Featherweight

i dont think Naseem did either

most people will probably disagree but that my theory anyway even if u think it is dumb LOL

Packing on muscle hardly ever increases punching power, so as people move up in weight and start fighting bigger and bigger guys, knockout power advantages usually lesson. Now someone like Hearns, that was a beast, still has enough as he moves up to still knock guys out.

All I've got to say is I'm worried Tito is going to prove your theory very wrong, and he is going to get embarrassed next weekend.

Well the people u mention were either insanly powerfull or were cutting alot of weight, See cotto is actualy a harder hitter at welterweight then he was at jww, Because he isnt cutting so much weight he isnt so increadibly weakend before his fights, But an examle of someone who loses power is a guy like gatti, When he got up to ww he didnt hit verry hard at all

I think ill add Joan Guzman to someone not carrying their power up, I mean he had the nickname Little Tyson and now hasnt had a stoppage in over 3 years

Guellermo Jones was knocking people out at welterweight.
He's still knocking people out at cruiserweight.

A perfect example of weight lifting muscle not increasing punching power, at least not as much percentage wise as the increase in weight. As he got bigger, he might have been stronger, but he was also slower.
