  • Lacy Refusing To Face Tarver Over Shaw

As noted on BoxingScene.com several weeks ago, the Tampa Tribune reports that former super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy (23-1, 17KOs) is still refusing to fight IBO light heavyweight champ Antonio Tarver (26-4, 19KOs) as long as promoter Gary Shaw is involved. [details]

It sounds like Lacy really has his head up his ass. Shaw isn't asking for any options on him. Lacy better have a good Plan B because he hasn't made much money in the last year.

Lacy won't fight Tarver. He fights Mundine next. And that will be his next fight. I have already heard this from people in the boxing world, who know what there talking about.

It may be 4-5 months away. Depending on if the Australian fights Sako Bika first, which is unlikely.

If Lacy wants to get his career back on track he has to let these grudges go.

Tarver aint anything special either man. Sure Lacy has fought ****e lately. But if he controls his muscle mass problem, who knows. Anyway this fight won't go ahead.

Lacy's next fight is a title shot, for the WBA SMW title. In his home country. Against a ****y Australian.

Not sure about that. Tarver hasn't looked good lately either, his wins are against nobodies, if Lacy loses some of his muscle I'd give him a chance. Those muscles are hindering him.

                  ****!

I was so excited about watching 2 guys who have struggled to look good against homeless people in the ring.

A thousand curses on Gary Shaw's family.

Lacy pulled out, not Tarver! Tarver is the champ!
