The Ultimate Glen Johnson Bandwagon Thread!

This is an appreciation / bandwagon thread for one of the greatest fighters of this era, Glen Johnson.

Some might remember an undefeated, up and coming Glen Johnson demolished by Bernard Hopkins in his first title try but still showing toughness, even in loss.

After that loss he fought all top competition and lost split and majority decisions to hometown fighters but never quit trying, even though most would have.

When he finally beat Woods, knocked out Roy Jones and decisioned Antonio Tarver, all during the same year, he was nominated the fighter of the year 2004. It was a great year for Glen Johnson and he will always be remembered for that.
He overcame all the politics, won the world title and became the number 1 light heavyweight in the world.

Since then he has dropped close decisions to both Tarver and Woods but recently resurrected his career with a stoppage win over Montell Griffin. Now, Glen Johnson will be fighting one of the potential future stars, the WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.

The odds are stacked against Glen but will he once again be able to overcome those odds, just like he has for his whole career.

All aboard the Glen Johnson bandwagon.

Johnson will KO Dawson in nine.

I'm taking bets on Dawson to decision Johnson. If anyone has some points to spend on a bet, I'll take them.

Okay I might take a bet on Johnson to beat Dawson but only for 1k or 2k because I don't want to spend all my points on that.

Glen Johnson fights a lot and will fight anyone. What's not to like about a guy who trys to make the most of his skills and keeps working hard despite his setbacks.

He isn't called the "Road Warrior" for nothing.
Don't forget this dude's age as well.
        39 and still going strong!!!
He is an old school fighter in the modern game.
The guy will fight anybody in their own back yard and for that alone you have to give him credit.

I am a fan of glen, I think he worked very hard to get to the top and i was really pleased for him when he beat tarver to become the true champ. I think that loss to hopkins actually did him some good in a way he changed his trainer and then adjusted his style to become more aggressive.
Johnson lost many fights that he should have won due to poor judging and his record does not do him justice.

I watched a fight where Glen Johnson was a commentator. He said the word "definitely" more than Lennox Lewis. Is that like a Jamacian thing or what??

I agree...and to add to that, he is a gentleman in and out of the ring. I've had the pleasure of talking to him a few times and the guy is PURE class. And as far as his work in the ring, the guy is a throwback and probably one of the most underrated fighters in the game today.
