Kessler doesn't have a belt so he isn't too high on the list. Bute is waiting his chance to face Calzaghe. Even if Calzaghe beats him, he still gets a fat paycheck, certainly fatter than anything Kessler has to offer.

Calzaghe has a couple of fights left. Bute wouldn't be in his plans.


It's also evident that Bute's team are sure he isn't ready for Kessler as he'll be fighting a shot Joppy instead.

One word: YIKES.

I have serious concerns for Joppy's long term health at this point. After he was Tito'd, he's been beaten up by Hopkins and Taylor BADLY. You may say, well those are his only losses in the last several years, and that's correct. But look at the guys he's fought since then: 5 hand-picked fighters who had won a COMBINED 3 of their last 30 fights before they fought Joppy. Wow.

Bute TKO2 Joppy, and I hope Joppy gets a nice payday here because this should be it for him.
