Witter v Hopkins: March 22nd - Atlantic City

Just heard on the radio from the Witter camp that this fight is very close to being finalised. It seems Witter and Hatton aren't close to fighting anytime soon because they can't agree over the money. So instead they're turning their attentions to Demetrius Hopkins who is apparently very keen on the fight.

It seems like a good move for both fighters, its a big East Coast bout and the money's gonna be good for Witter who will appreciate the US tv exposure. I haven't seen Bernard's nephew fight too much but he seems to have a decent record. Not too sure how Witter's fight game will hold up under American judges & refs, but it would be an intersting challenge.

What do you guys think of the potential match-up? Discuss

Damn, I thought he was going to fight against Bernard but I forgot about Demetrius.

I heard he was going to fight Castillo but Demetrius sounds much better.

Demitrius lost (but not on the cards) recently didn't he? Should be good exposure for Witter.

I don't know if their styles will make for a good match, but Hopkins is a way better opponent than Castillo. Too bad Stevie Forbes isn't getting the chance instead though.

Witter to dominate. And it should be Forbes in there.

I don't really care about exciting match-ups in the LWW division at this point. None of the fighters are terribly exciting.

I just want some matches between top fighters to be made.

                Malignaggi should fight Forbes.

Never seen Hopkins fight that much, anyone can give me an assessment on the guy? I'm pretty sure Witter is the favorite, but does Hopkins have a chance?

Castillo did want to fight him but the Witter camp wanted nothing to do with a washed up fighter, I still say Witter TKO 10 Hopkins (Demetrius that is...)
