I'd say British but not because i'm british. he was born in Britain and lived there till' he was 12 and moved back in early 20's and had to represent Canada in Olympics as that is where he was living at the time.

I say he has a large fan base because he was a good guy and respectable but didn't take **** from people and was exciting.
