With the break through of people like Cotto, Williams, Dawson and Pavlik and lots of new prospects like Khan, Povetkin, Berto etc.. is 2008 a new era.
Is 2007 the last year of our era? RJJ should be retired, Mayweather look to retire soon as does Calzaghe and Pac-man doesn't have to many years left in him and could be taken over by Donaire as the king of the littler men. Morales and Barrera are retired and Mazquez has a few good fights left but can't have to many. De La Hoya and Trinindad the two of the biggest fighters of the past few years are fading slowly into the background with big fights that have little meaning.
2008 looks to be the beginning of the new era with most of the former greats fading or looking to retire soon there are a few great champions which will most likely remain and cross eras like Juan Diaz etc but for the most part 2008 looks to be a new beginning.
