2008 beginning of a new era?

With the break through of people like Cotto, Williams, Dawson and Pavlik and lots of new prospects like Khan, Povetkin, Berto etc.. is 2008 a new era.

Is 2007 the last year of our era? RJJ should be retired, Mayweather look to retire soon as does Calzaghe and Pac-man doesn't have to many years left in him and could be taken over by Donaire as the king of the littler men. Morales and Barrera are retired and Mazquez has a few good fights left but can't have to many. De La Hoya and Trinindad the two of the biggest fighters of the past few years are fading slowly into the background with big fights that have little meaning.

2008 looks to be the beginning of the new era with most of the former greats fading or looking to retire soon there are a few great champions which will most likely remain and cross eras like Juan Diaz etc but for the most part 2008 looks to be a new beginning.

I say 09 will be the new era. By then Cal, Hop, Floyd, Hatton, Mosley, and Oscar would all have definitively retired. You could make a claim for 08 being the year of the "new era" though either way we are in for some big things.

Yea it could 09 looks to be the year when all of the prospects we are should be watching look to either turn into great champions or just hype, this year will be the start though 08 will be a great year.

For the new era I am backing the Peterson Bros. and taking all points bets when they fight.

Theres never really "eras" per se, its just a rolling thing names get replaced with names and so on doesn't mean there any better or worse its just one of them things.
