Cotto can certainly be a big star in the sport. He's well on his way. To say he can become one of the biggest in history is a bit ridiculous though. For starters, in order for him to be the biggest star in the history of the sport, he would have to transcend boxing and become known to the general sports fan and beyond (think Ali, SRL, ODLH). I don't care if Cotto brutally KO's his competition for the remainder of his career, he will never become a cross-over star until he develops some sort of personality. Good guy, bad guy, whatever. He needs to do something to make himself interesting. Perhaps reversing that lobotomy would be a good start.

Cotto can become one of the biggest stars in history. His fighting style is complete, he can do it all, box, brawl, slug, he is truly fearless and a class act in and out of the ring. he is universally beloved and respected. even mayweather respects him so much he will never fight him.

Imagine how big Cotto can be. His style is always exciting. Yeah he might lose like Duran but everyone loves a guy who fights like Cotto and acts like he does in and out of the ring. Pure class.

Mayweasther will never be revered for his character, everyone knows he is a super talent but he has been well managed and protected from risky fights, of ocurse by his own orders.

Cotto is the spirit of a true warrior, all that is great about the sport. Floyd is not. Cotto will one day be a massive superstar, floyd only rides the coattails of major stars, on his own people will not buy his fights against mismatched opposition. this is why he is in hiatus or going to MMA. he knows he can't ride anymore coattails.

Me personally I don't give a **** what he does out of the ring as long as it ain't ****ing with kids or raping people.

Whoa! Cotto the biggest star in history? **** thats a strong statement to make considering what he's accomplished. Sure he is a champion but to say he is the biggest star in history is far fetched big time. He can't match up against the accomplishments of some other great fighters the sport has seen. Cesar Chavez, Tyson, Ray Leonard, De La Hoya, Ali, not to mention many other fighters throughout the history of the sport.

He hasnt done all that much, and besides he hasnt really beat any real good fighters in their prime. He beat Mosely but Mosely is far from his glory days.

He's moving along, we'll give him that but not the title of " the greatest in history" no ****ing way.
