Good?! I say great! On the level of Marquez v. Vasquez 1&2!!

Marquez has proven to be a warrior, true warrior. He has changed his style almost complety few fighters are able to do so as he has and continue to be succesfull.

I actually want to see him trade with Pacquiao or stay at distance and throw bombs as he was doing against Rocky. I just hope he dont' get old that night, but he should be at his best for what its worth at this time in his career. As long as he wins im cool with that.

well its jsut that people missed completely on 7 years of boxing since 2001....and it was already in decline since chavez lost for the first time...

they watch the fights now they show them for free, but they dont follow the sport, they're not educated on it.....they just watch the fight and forget later.....

pacquiao is probably a more well known name than morales-barrera-marquez....

the only really famous mexican fighters are:

          1- jorge arce
          2- jc chavez jr
          3- cristian mijares
          4- ulises solis

I've been to Tijuana, Mexico and talked boxing a few times with the locals and some were able to talk boxing history one even mentioned how great Jose Napoles was. Last time i went again people were able to talk boxing and when they gave me directions to find Margaritos gym i went looking. They all know Morales.

But you may be right about not being as popular my uncles weren't really big boxing fans till they got to the states, but then again, my family and uncles come from a small pueblo, where at one time no tv was availble. Just seems that boxing is popular in boxing because we get so many great fighters coming from Mexico.

yeah well its jsut that arce became famous because he appeared on big brother, then televisa got him a contract and he was always on TV....after like 2 years however, Televisa never tried to use Arce's name to promote boxing, so their rival TV Azteca signed him and started bringing boxing back to free TV....they also got a contract with Teiken and transmitted little known Championship fights form Japan in late 2005- early 2006...

Travieso is promoted by Fernando Beltran and TopRank, so TV Azteca gets all the Top Rank cards with at least one mexican on them.....

Televisa is partner with Univision, and De la Hoya is part-owner, so Televisa gets some Golden Boy cards.....

Chavez JR carries the name so he is almost as famous as arce...

and Mijares-Arce was the first well publicised fight in mexico since the comeback of boxing, so mijarees got very famous by beating arce....

solis is highly skilled, the fact that he has won impressively the 4 times he's fought in Tv Azteca makes him a favorite, because Mexico likes winners...
