Come to think about it DLH v. Cotto don't look too bad.

There's really no shame in losing to De La Hoya in the event it does happen and it's a win win situation for Cotto because Floyd won't fight him undefeated, maybe with an L he will. Let's not forget Zab Judah who was being talked about like Cotto is before the Baldomir fight and was looking to fight Mayweather but Mayweather didn't sign **** until Judah got upstaged and lost because it was no longer that risky knowing what had just happened to Judah. And if Cotto does win against DLH then the demand for a Mayweather v. Cotto fight will be higher then ever with such a great victory. If Floyd refuses to fight Cotto after a win with DLH then it will make him look real bad. At first I was against Cotto v. DLH, but now I say bring it on. It's just been a month since Floyd's last fight but Cotto can't wait forever. De La Hoya is the best opponent for him because if he faces Paul and beats him Floyd can just say "who is Paul? fight a big name and then come talk to me."

And then Floyd went and fought the guy who upstaged Judah so that makes no sense!

for Cotto, it may be. its his chance to raise his stock to astronamical heights. For De La Hoya, it just doesnt feel like a credible win because dude should be retired now. He had his chance against Trinidad, but due to poor judgement, he has been trying to overcome that shadow for the longest time. Well, unfortunatley for him, the sun will always be at its highest peak.

I've always said it was a good fight. If anything, beating Oscar will boost Cotto's name/money. If he wins, it should be enough of a boost to draw Floyd into a fight, unless Floyd doesn't come back. If Floyd does come back and doesn't fight Cotto, then there better be a better name out there, like Forrest that he will fight or else, down goes his name. I would say Williams, but Floyd would say he doesn’t draw a crowd/money so it doesn’t make sense.

If Cotto beats Oscar, and his numbers/popularity don't improve, it's an indication of Oscar's magic wearing off.

Lol it was NOT a screw up. You posted it IN CAPS to try and discredit Floyd knowing little to nothing about his career. Don't discuss things you no nothing about man, it makes you look foolish.

I don't remember posting anything in caps and rarely do. anyway, i doubt you haven't had a **** up in a post but i know what im talking bout and have seen most of Mayweather's fights.. it's still don't change the fact that he's protected his record by fighting low risk high reward fighters.

anyway your probably 5 so why argue with u.

it's a ridiculous fight if you actually care about what little infrastructure boxing actually has. de la hoya has in no way earned a title shot, especially at welterweight.

from an entertainment perspective, it looks like a pretty good match up (and of course a huge payday).

overall, i don't like it, and i'm not interested in seeing de la hoya fight anymore.
