BoxingScene.com spoke with trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr, father and former trainer of pound-for-pound welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (39-0, 25KOs), on how a fight would play out between his son and unbeaten Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25KOs), who currently holds the WBA welterweight title. In the opinion of Floyd Sr, Cotto's aggressive style would make him an easy opponent for his son. [details]

"Is he crazy? Hatton will beat the f**king socks off of Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao, that guy can't box. All that guy can do is punch. Pacquiao has been with Freddie Roach for all these years and he still can't box. They put him on the pound-for-pound, he should be on the clown-for-pound list."

I agree with Sr. on this one. I think Mayweather would have no problem with Cotto. He made a pressure fighter look dirty in Hatton and heck, I think the judges are tired of Hatton's ugly ass hit and hold. How many rounds did he even have on Mayweather until he got his ass KOed? I also think Manny going up to fight Hatton would be ridiculous. He'll be a big balloon at 140lbs, probably coming in at nearly 150lbs on fight night, and he'll have lost any advantage he's had at the lower weights. Less power, no speed, and that'll make him an average, boxer at best. I don't think he'll be nearly as explosive and Hatton will just smother Manny to death and Manny, being the nice guy he is, won't know how to deal with this guy that keeps coming in to hit and hold. It'll be a total mismatch.

Glad to see Sr's opinion on things. I've said it as well, I don't see Cotto beating Mayweather, just look at their fights and see.
