What's amazing to me is that the fans are only asking for Mayweather to fight Cotto.

If Mayweather doesn't fight until late this year or untill 2009

Cotto has to fight somebody, so shouldn't we spend time focusing on more realistic options?
Would Cotto be a fool for fighting De La Hoya over Williams though?

I wonder how many Cotto fans would be chiming in about their boy not opting for the toughest possible fight in Paul Williams.

Cotto-Williams makes perfect sense. If it becomes evident that Oscar De La Hoya will not fight Cotto next, the Bobfather, Dynamite Dan Goossen and Al Haymon will need to figure out a way to work together

How would Cotto fighting De La Hoya for a career high payday be any more foolish than Mayweather fighting him? The man has fought plenty of high risk, low reward fighters as it is. As a Cotto fan, I don't mind what so ever seeing De La Hoya-Cotto materialize as long as its a prelude to Mayweather-Cotto.

Cmon guys, whenever a name is mentioned to fight PBF, the arguement against it is always, "what has he done? who has he beaten?" well, this is the same situation for Cotto. Cotto has earned his shot at PBF, but I'm not saying Floyd should fight him NOW. I think Cotto should raise his stock some more with one fiight asap and THEN concentrate on Floyd. But why should he give PWIll a shot if PWill hasnt even defended his title yet?

PWILL doesnt deserve a shot at Cotto OR Mayweather yet. Its up to PWILL to try to find fights and if Cotto doesnt give him a shot, Cotto shouldnt be criticized for it. PWill should go after the other up and comers, maybe even give Margo a rematch.
