Paul Williams has fought 4 top 50 opponents, Cotto has fought 15. All of this "calling out" nonsense is just that. Paul hasn't earned the right to fight Cotto yet.

Yer I would love to see Williams dominate Cintron before possibly going into an exciting fight with Cotto.

        What makes Paul Williams special:

He's tall for his weight class
He throws a lot of punches

OK we're done, hopefully he'll lose soon so we can stop talking about him.

Don't you get that feeling a little better, little younger version of the opponent would beat Cotto in his last fights? I do. Vs Judah i thought if Judah could go 12 rounds he would beat Cotto based on what he did earlier in the fight. Vs Mosley i thought man if Shane was a little faster and had a little bit more timing he would have probably beat Cotto, i based that on how Cotto was backing off Mosley LATER in the fight. Isn't the 36 year old supposed to be more tired than the 27 year old? I think Cotto's manager is one smart sun of a ***** and maybe that's why Cotto's sticking to him although he is a racist prick (Arum).
I think Williams has too much of a chance to beat Miguel for Arum to even want him to fight Williams. But Judah and a 36 year old former great Shane Mosley perfectly qualify as Cotto competition. Just for being champions and being both tight on the rankings the fight should happen, the winner can then catch Mayweather if Mayweather is dumb enough to fight at 32 or whatever time schedule we're talking about here.

              I'd add:

              He lands alot of punches
For a tall guy he has tremendous speed and stamina
              He is a champion

Cotto breaks every rib in williams' body.

this is a good fight for williams for about 3 rounds, then cotto
gets inside and begins to break him down en route to a mid-late round stoppage.

following the fight williams calls roy jones about a tryout for a usbl team.

*Paul Williams is a freak of nature, I don’t need to run down what makes him so special, still the internet boxing community only wants to talk about Cotto and its starting to remind me a lot of last year when people were talking about Antonio Margarito as this mythic warrior who would trounce everyone…

*well a funny thing happened one warm evening in California…he got punch in the face…repeatedly…and just looked flat out outclassed like some sort of laboring scorpion who showed up to compete at a beauty pageant…excuses were made for his awful performance against a one handed Josh Clottey and so the story goes, well actually his story ended…he has essentially fallen off the map now in favor of Cotto who I respect and would pay to watch fight if he watch Paul Williams...

*I get the hype…he’s exciting to watch he’s young and he’s an undefeated titleholder…but he never beats Paul Williams…who’s also exciting to watch, young and an undefeated titleholder…

*this kid is going to eventually run the division and it kills me that all these brainwashed hypocrites completely ignore him and clamor for a Mayweather Cotto fight….if you are a boxing fan how could you not want to see two completely different yet undefeated young title holders scrap it out (unless your bob arum)…

*and you cant say Paul Williams is not worthy of a fight with Cotto…he dusted off everybody’s last guy Antonio Margarito…there’s so many great fights to be made at 147 I just don’t see why people (for better or worse) have to remain fixated and obsessed with Floyd Mayweather vs. Cotto right now when Floyd said he is not fighting in 2008.

                      What about Paul Williams.....
