    Tyson-Holyfield I was a classic!!

I watched this fight yesterday at work, thanks for a link that someone supplied. But this fight was EXCITING HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING!!! The best fighting the best. I thank God that Evander won, since he is a close friend of my dad's. But when Evander and Tyson were prime, The Heavywieght division was THE HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION!

    HOWEVER,

My question to you, what needs to happen for the Heavyweight division to GO back to the old days of Heavyweight boxing?

You said it basicly the best fighting the best if chageav wlad peter and sultan all fight each other that will help a lot, We also need a tyson or ike like character that can help draw in the fans but i think the heavyweight division is getting better.

Some decent talent. Wlad is the most talented of a bad bunch and there is no-one for him to fight to prove his worth.

The 90's was apart from the 70's the strongest era for heavyweight's. IMO Lewis,Tyson and Holyfield would have beat Wlad and Mercer,Morrison,Bowe,Moorer,Golota,Tua and Ruddock would all of stood a great chance of beating him as well.

I agree with you man. I remember the times when EVERYONE in the world could recognize who the Heavyweight Champ of the World was (ie, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, etc)! Those days are soooo gone, but I believe we need a new young fighter that has what it takes to make non boxing fans, fans! Almost like Iron Mike (although, I doubt if we will ever have another young animal like he was when he came on the scene), but its going to take someone that the anybody can watch, not just boxing fans to bring the heavyweight division back to prominece.....or like we have stated earlier, the best fighting the best in some EXCITING fights.

we need a unified champ and no interim champs so that everyone is clear and the fighter that beats that unified champ is the best etc..

              It's already been stated.

The best need to fight the best and the heavyweights needs a new exciting young talent that will make people watch them again.

I been hearing alot about this kid name Chaz Witherspoon. I watched him when he fought and won the Nat'l Golden Gloves a few years back. However, I haven't seen him in his pro career. But from what I hear, he is the next BIG thing to fight heavyweight.....what ya'll think?

He looked good in his last fight, it was on the undercard of Pavlik-Taylor but he has to step up his level of competition before I get excited about him.
