BREAKING NEWS: PUERTO RICAN WITHDRAWS FROM CONCEPCION FIGHT!

A clash between two hot superbantamweight prospects was averted after the camp of undefeated Puerto Rican prospect Juan Manuel Lopez decided to forego a February 9 battle with Filipino upstart Bernabe Concepcion.

According to Aljoe Jaro, who manages Concepcion, Lopez withdrew from the bout for no apparent reason, although he indicated his ward will still be fighting on the same date against another opponent.

"We have another opponent. Lopez wouldn't fight, maybe he was just afraid of my boy. Top Rank boss Bob Arum said we will now be facing a guy named Rubio," Jaro stated.

Would have been a great fight. Heard Lopez is a monster. Would have been a defining fight for Concepcion to see if he has what it takes to be a world champion.
