Taylor is an idiot, i watched it last night and was screaming at the laptop,

"Hold up your left hand higher you idiot!!"

Because pavlik did exactly to taylor what he did against miranda, which was back him up with straight punches, talyors left hand was way too low and pavlik's right hand was getting through it too much.

And that ref was a bit odd, Pavlik could easily have been stopped, he was all over the place, the ref gave pavlik every chance to stay in the fight, i cant believe taylor didnt finish him, but the ref was really quick to stop taylor when he got hit, i think taylor should have been given the full 10 count (he wouldnt have got up anyways)

Bottom line is, I had taylor 2/3 rounds up by the time of KO, so he can win the rematch if he keeps his hands higher and picks off more of those jabs from Pavlik, thing is, styles dont change overnight, id have to go with pavilk in the rematch. Pavilk really isnt anything special, once he meets someone who can block a basic jab and right hand, he be in real trouble.

        I agree with you.
I don't see anything particularly special about Pavlik.
I don't know, I could be wrong , but he does seem a bit sloppy or like a rag doll.
I do question his chin as well.
I think Taylor can beat him 2nd time around.

TS, you don't really mean to compare Pavlik being down for one second with Taylor being motionless and unconcious?

Pavlik was not close to being knocked out. He was beaten good for a round, but that was not close to a stoppage.

And Pavlik learned his lesson from that round. Will Taylor learn his? That's the question here.

I wouldn't be shocked by a Taylor decision, but a Pavlik KO is also likely.

Gunstar, you predicted a KO1 from your GooGoo account. The ruse is up, not that we were ever fooled.

I give Taylor a chance to K.O. Pavlik in one round....About the same chance I give the Miami Dolphins to go undefeated next year and break all the Patriots records of this year!!! Frankly!! I don't see how Taylor can be concidered the favorite to even win the fight!! Based on what??/ How well he got gift decisions fighting Jr Middleweights??? Or how well he recovered from the last knock-out from Pavlik??? Taylor's no sloutch but he also wasn't the great fighter his protectors, HBO made him out to be, he may win the rematch but if he was protected against real middleweights as middleweight champion, then got knocked out against the first real in their prime middleweight he fought as champion then I just can't see him being any better as a Super Middleweight although I'd love to see him fight someone like Jeff Lacy which will never happen.

yup if taylor doesn't KO pavlik he is in trouble again, that or if he runs out of gas or "waste un-necessary energy" he is done...
i believe taylor capable of outboxing pavlik, but pavlik is kinda strong has stamina, and don't stop throwing punches

Taylor has to KO pavlik cause he aint got the stamina /Fitness to go twelve at a hard fought pace which is what Pavlik is gonna try & make it ,Taylor also dont have the Ability to fight under preasure he likes to dictate the pace of a fight

the longer this fight goes the more chance Pavlik has of Winning ,Taylor's reflexes slowed down considerably in the 1st fight after his big onslought & that is why he got tagged by big Pavlik's big right hands IMO just take a look where Taylor is holding his hands when he gets hurt they are actually near his chest

I don't think GunStar's prediction is that absurd. Sure, he's going out on a ledge, but given the fact that Jermaine has the power to KO Pavlik and his best shot is to take him out early, I'll be surprised if Jermaine doesn't attempt to do just that. I don't generally bet cash on boxing, but given that many people seem to be dismissing Taylor altogether because he got KO'd in the first fight, I just may put some money (and points) on an early Taylor KO as well.

Like most other people here, I do, however, think that Taylor's chances diminish as the rounds pile up because of his ****ty defense.
