I watched the fight again today and deep down I have a feeling that flurry in the corner that laid him out will haunt him for a long long time.

He's never felt anything like that in his career and something like that doesn't erase itself. When it comes to rebounding from a viscious beating there aren't too many fighters who could ever do it.

Taylor has alot of pressure on his shoulders and I don't know if he has what it takes to handle it all.

    I think he's peaked.

    The weight won't favor anyone.

Pavlik by KO in less than 5.

Taylor moves up to 168 for good. But unfortunately, I don't think he'll ever look the same after this fight.
Not only that, but he already knows that Pavlik can take his best shots and keep on coming. I am also not sure that Taylor isn't damaged goods after the pounding he took in that last fight.

I mean, if you really sit down and watch that fight, Taylor was absorbing HUGE shots the whole fight.

Like they said about Meldrick Taylor.

There are some fights that end a fighter prime.

I think Pavlik might have effectively ended Taylors prime.

I believe this fight will go like this.

Pavlik knocks out Taylor as soon as the match starts.

Umm yeah. I've said it before, I bet Taylor thinks he has the judges in his pocket and will try to do everything in his power to survive the full distance. Look for Taylor to throw numerous jabs and back-pedal a lot, also counterpunch. He will try to save his energy and avoid the ropes but this will be very hard for him.

I think he realized after the last fight that he can't brawl with Pavlik, he can't push him back like Pavlik did against Miranda. IMO this could be a good way for Taylor to beat Pavlik but I don't think he can pull it off, he did good in the last fight brawling because of his handspeed but he couldn't finish the job because he is not a finisher like Pavlik is. If he can hurt Pavlik again it will be interesting to see if he has learned from anything their last fight.

If Taylor decides to counterpunch this will get interesting. Taylor isn't that good at it but he has the handspeed and power to pull it off. Pavlik can be sloppy at times and payed for it in the last match. However after he made that one mistake against Taylor the last time, he never dropped his hands again.

I think Pavlik knows what to do now and with the mental advantage going into the fight, he should win this. If Taylor shows up ever more motivated it could be a toss-up though because Taylor is really fast with his hands unlike Pavlik and could outland him.

The way the judges had the last fight you can't really determine who they will go for if this remains a close fight but I will pick Pavlik by decision and he might be able to hunt Taylor down and stop him in the later rounds when Taylor loses his stamina.

Taylor will be more careful this time but he risks being outworked by Pavlik.

        thats exactly what i'm reckoning.

To me pavlik pretty much has this in the bag already, and i wouldn't be surprised if taylors heart isn't totally in it.

... How can someone predict Pavlik getting knocked out in one? Is that a Pavlik fan making a strange joke? Pavlik dropped his hands and Taylor unloaded on his chin.. And Pavlik still regained his legs. Unless Taylor is permitted to sneak a pistol into the ring Taylors not taking anyone out in one. I'm sure this fight won't be easy for either man but the fact is, it seems like Pavlik has less adjustments to make: ----Pavlik- don't drop your hands.... Taylor- don't get backed up/stay out of corners, don't drop your hands, throw the jab more, don't telegraph and/or waste punches, new trainer.. i'm thinking pavlik tko in 8

Taylor has openly said he doesn't really love the game of boxing like many others involved in the sport do.

He comes across as a very humble guy that does it to make the money to take care of his family and once the passion to compete is gone your in a world of pain.

It's a very serious sport and if you don't feel it, your bound to get hurt!
