    kayjay's 2008 wish list

It's better than the fat man's list. This is just for fights not already signed (or imminently signed).

    1. De La Hoya - Cotto: A lot of you are too hard on DLH right now. He fought beautifully last May, but he was against an opponent who is just too good right now. Ask yourself: Is Cotto as tough an opponent for Oscar as PBF was?; Is Oscar an easier opponent for Cotto than Shane was?
This fight would be a barnburner. Cotto will struggle when in with a guy who is both a bigger hitter and a better boxer.

    2. Kessler - Miranda: HBO needs to get rid of one of them, and hopefully they can pressure Palle into taking this. While Kessler is a better fighter than Pavlik, imo, he is not necessarily a tougher opponent for Miranda. Kessler will let Miranda fight on the front foot. But he can also show off his defense and handspeed in winning a comfortable decision.

    3. Peter - Chagaev: If Peter can beat Maskaev he may look here rather than to Wlad. This is the most interesting fight at HW for 2008, imo. Chagaev would look good against Peter.

    4. Dawson - Tarver: Tarver is not an ideal opponent for this (I'd rather see an orthodox guy with a big punch against Chad), but we need to see Dawson in a big fight.

    5. Malignaggi - Hatton: I'd settle for Witter against Paulie, but this would be the most fun. A contrast in style and personality as dramatic as on 12/8, but this time more evenly matched.

    6. Bute - Froch: Froch is a mystery to me. Can he bring it against a world-class opponent?

    7. Pavlik - Abraham: This is exciting not only because it could unify, but because Kelly will have to fight differently than he has in his televized fights so far.

    8. Diaz - Katsidis: Just to see a lot of punches landed.

    9. Lee - Duddy: I doubt Duddy actually takes this, but it would be fun.

I think Duddy can beat Lee, Kessler - Miranda and Pavlik- Abraham would be sick fights.

Good list but I can't honestly say I have anything other than compete apathy for the heavyweight division right now until Wlad decides to fight or Povetkin proves he's ready to rock and roll. Dan Rafael take note.

I like all those fights, but I really, really disagree about De La Hoya being a bigger hitter than Cotto.

Wlad "decides" to fight? What do you mean? He's ready to fight anyone, there's just not a good matchup for him now.

I like the list, exepct for Pavlik Abraham. Pavlik beats Taylor again he has some great options. This is on you never hear if Trinidad beats RJJ. Pavlik-Trinidad at 168. A lot of money in that match up.
No Mayorga Kayjay? I thought you were a fan

Cotto is more consistent and persistent in his attack, but I don't think he has Oscar's one-punch power.

I'll watch Mayorga fight anyone. Who do you have in mind?

I just made this list up off the top of my head, so I left out a bunch of guys.

I think Oscar's one punch power mostly is from the speed of his left hook, but he hasn't shown dangerous power in years. IMO Cotto simply hits harder. But while I like Cotto big in this fight, I will have to concede that Oscar having the better chin could prove me wrong.

                    Im the same way really.
I want him to have one last big win and then retire. So For the sake of a good fight Baldomir and then finish off with Forrest. Believe it or not I read Carl King is trying to make a Judah Mayorga fight at a Jr Middle catchweight. He aslo said Showtime was very interested in making it happen.
