Official List of Fighters Most disrespected and overhyped on this forum

    Most disrespected fighters:

    1. Floyd Mayweather Junior ( He has beaten a massive list of big names. And yet Cotto and Margarito fans still think there fighters should start favourite aginst Floyd)
    2. Joe Calzaghe (Never lost, undefeated, fought the best at SMW and beat them all. Work rate is special. He has fought a few bums, but his resume is solid. He is my pound for pound number 2 on any given day. Many peopl think he is no chance against Hopkins, when Hopkins lost to Taylor twice and people call Taylor crap on this forum)
    3. Jermain Taylor (Was one big right from knocking out Pavlik in the 2nd round of there fight. He knocked Pavlik down. Yet people are carrying on as if he has next to no chance against Pavlik. Also not taking into account his big wins over Hopkins)
(4 and 5 are not so much disrespected, but rather under rated)
    4. Mikkel Kessler
    5. Vernon Forrest

    Most overhyped fighters:

    1. Kelly Pavlik (Fans carry on as if hes the greatest in what has to be called a weak middleweight division. If he stepped up to SMW, there are a lot of boys that will sort him out, thats if Taylor doesn't in the rematch. I favour Calzaghe, Kessler and Mundine and possibly Bute all to beat Pavlik. His weakness is his defence and his suspect chin.
    2. Bernard Hopkins ( sure hes a legend. All these guys on the overhyped list are great fighters. But not to the extent to which they are talked up. Hopkins is marvellous to still win big fights at his age. But with all the talk about him beating Calzaghe. I seriously can't see this happening. He beat Winky who is not use to fighting at that weight, and more so the fight was ugly with brawling and continual holding. he throws 12 punches a round to Calzaghes 1000. Who wins ?
    3. Margarito (could have been a lot higher. Probably should have. Lost a few already. But TKO'd cintron who many claim is the hardest puncher in the division. However in a bout with Floyd, i can't see him taking more than a couple rounds. Yet his fans feel hes the next P4P number 1.
    4. Miguel Cotto. A fantastic fighter. But not as great as what everyone is saying just yet. He may be in the future. but just yet, hes not.

Overhyped list : Pavlik, Hopkins, Cotto and to a lesser extent Margarito are great fighters. But just not the extent they are being talked up. Its probably slack of me having Hopkins in this list as he is a legend. But i don't give him a chance of beating Calzaghe.

Anyways, nothing personal. But let me know your opinions.

Lol, thanks for commenting with no comment.

      Good list I think.

I think Cotto should be taken off the overrated list and Paul Williams put on.

Like Pavlik, Williams hasn't really fought enough elites to prove how good he is.

Those two are on my list only because they haven't had a chance to prove themselves yet.

Hopkins lost his biggest tests and is still considered god. I agree with him being on the list.

Margarito deserves to be on that list too.

I think you can put Cory Spinks in the underrated category too.

It really depends on who you really listen too. The Floyd haters will over hype Cotto in order to say PBF is ducking him but most fans out there see him as the #1 contender (PBF champ) of the WW division thats not hype thats pretty damn realistic.

Calz beat everyone at SMW????? sure but its not the deepest weight class around. I think Calz gets a good amount of appropriate credit nowadays but he took a very long time to start going. Pavlik has a similar resume and he is much younger.

Margarito and Paul Williams IMO are the most overhyped fighters on these forums. According to Ferocity and his horde Margarito is the best and most feared WW out there after doing what and beating who?

Paul Williams is tauted by mmummber as the best WW and the most feared WW out there after he out pointed Margarito and beat Sharmba Mitchell
mmummber is exactly like Ferocity only his guy is Paul Williams.

The most underappreciated guys are probably Israel Vazquez, super great fighter, great heart, power, exciting style and Casamayor. Casamayor is a bit old in the tooth now and looks a bit shop worn but he was a terrific fighter who got the **** end of a few decisions while fighitng the best of his weight class and era. Saddly I doubt he will ever get the respect he deserves when his book is closed.

That's fair. The list looked like it was thrown together on the spot, and you did a pretty damn good job considering it was thrown together on the spot.

Good idea... I forgot to give it for the original post.

Since you reminded me of it, my karma to him can be from both of us.

Super Middleweight is a hell of a lot deeper than Heavyweight, Cruiser, Light Heavy, Middleweight or Junior Middleweight. In fact aside from possibly Jr Feathweight I can see Super Middle becoming the deepest division in the sport, especially if Pavlik and Taylor move up as expected. Kessler, Lacy, Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda, Bute, Andrade, Froch, Green, Mundine, when Calzaghe leaves the division there's going to be an incredible fight for supremecy. Hopefully Kessler will make a move to unify and we'll see how great the sport can be.
