130 is good, you can add Alex Arthur to that list too? But if you add Taylor to SMW then it's definatley SMW. It's got enough talent as it is.Calzaghe leaving will really open doors for all the boxers in that division. You can see Kessler-Taylor, Taylor-Bute,Bute-Kessler,Miranda-Taylor,Lacy-Miranda,Miranda-Kessler,Mundine-Miranda,Mundine-Taylor etc. It's going to be an amazing division

Something along the lines of Its a safe haven because its away from the big boys at 175...like Hops..Tarver...Woods..Johnson...Dawson etc...and away from the big boys at 160.... Taylor....Pavlik...Winky..Abraham...Duddy...Mirand a( at the time).

                  I think hes right.

The SMW has only been around since 1984..its a baby when the history of boxing is concerned...but now when the division contains One good fighter theres a problem.

                  Its Calzaghe and everybody else.

Almost every other division has an argument about whos the man.....

                  147...some say Floyd...some say Cotto

                  160..some say Abraham...some say Pavs

                  130..some say Guzman..some say Pac

                  etc.

When there is only ONE semi-elite fighter in the division then that fighter should move up....POINT BLANK.

The best fighters and elite fighters move up and win championships they dont sit in a **** division fighting bums for 15 years.

Roy Jones moved up all the way to Heavyweight for Christ sake.

Floyd moved up as high as 154.

                  Oscar moved up.

Hatton moved up and challenged himself against the best fighter in the world.

                  Tito moved up.

                  Hopkins moved up.

I can go on and on.
Hopkins moved up very late into his career much like calzaghe is doing right now. so that point is moot. 168 is not a safe haven most people think Kessler would beat every middleweight out their now.

Calzaghe isn't semi-elite he is a elite fighter and doesn't have to move up is he can still make 168. Why compromise your body to move up to 175 if you can safely make 168 without any real danger apart from sitting in a sauna for the day of the weigh in. He beat the best fighter at 168. I have little doubt that if he didn't fight Lacy then Lacy would still be champ now and not a shot fighter, he is scared to throw a punch incase he gets hit 3 times ergo the calzaghe fight.

He destroyed Kessler who is a solid fundemental powerful fighter and is the best fighter from 160-168-175 apart from Dawson and Calzaghe and should go on to dominate 168 after calzaghe moves on.

EDIT: During the zag-manfredo fight pavlik was still a prospect.

Like I said when Kessler and Lacy are the top dogs in the division then something is wrong.

Calzaghe STARVES himself to stay at 168.....he couldve moved up like EVERY other "champion" through out history.
