    southpaw boxers hm

anyone notice how alot of southpaws are dominating at the moment? you got pac,joe calzaghe, williams, chad dawson and proberly a few more.
I also noticed that alot of orthodox fighters say the best way to beat a southpaw is to knock him out lol.
I personally think the southpaw stance is a double edge sword because it can be a dam gd advantage but at the same time if you against someone with a nice right hand it could be over.
I think southpaws are so tough to spar with i personally dont know how bhop beats southpaws so easy and by ud.
anyone elses views on southpaws? whats the best way to fight against one? for points or the knockout?
Whos the best southpaw boxer of all time u reckon?
sorry for all the questions its just im training and hopefully going amatuer this year so im puttin in my research.

the best southpaws ever are Whitaker and Hagler.

Southpaws tend to be harder to jab. The straight right hand is an effective weapon against lefties, as is the left hook. Hopkins has been excellent at beating lefties. Roy Jones beat a ton of lefties, although Tarver beat him 2x.

Orthodox fighters must adjust to the straight left hand because of the angle it comes at. Often, orthodox fighters will have their right glove close to the right side of their cheek, to fend off the left hook from orthodox fighters. The straight left comes at a different angle at which can surprise guys. Watch the Pac-Morales rematch and see how often Pac landed the straight left through the guard of Morales, as Erik has always kept his right glove near the right side of his face to block left hooks from right-handed fighters.

Southpaw is easier to fight than orthodox and that is fact.

The southpaw style hasn't even been perfected yet which is why you dont see the amount of great champs that are southpaw's.

But it is hard as hell to fight a southpaw. Especially a guy like the Winkster who squares up and ****s. Guy's like Judah you can figure out if you turn it into a thinking match.

I think between Winky...and Williams....they have the best styles of the southpaw stance going for them.

Which is why Wrights jab is so lethal..its actually his strong hand(writing).

Do southpaws find it hard fighting other southpaws?

I heard that they do and that it makes for a sloppy fight with alot of head butts and clinching.

Watch the Quintana vs. Paul Williams coming up in Febuary too see two fast...pretty good southpaws going at it.

fighting in a southpaw stance, and something that I noticed when I spar is that righties think we are too dependent on our left hand. my best punch is my right hook to the body. i like that righties have to adjust to me

i'm lucky that me and my two brothers are all southpaws or else it would be hard to find someone to spar with. Naw, its nice for me to fight someone in the correct ( in my point of view) stance
