Skelton is a good kickboxer as well. He is a rolemodel for all the old men who want to box, he started as a pro at age 35.

He had no knowledge of MMA though.

I looked into Skelton's history and it seems that he was a K1 kickboxer - didn't make any ripples in it; then tried MMA and he got choked out. Now he's fighting for the WBA heavyweight championship, what gives?

the press (well the very little press who care about him) have tried turning him into an old mans fairy tale story.

no real experience, turns pro very very late, and then gets a title shot.

He's a terrible boxer, and its a bit of an embarrasment this is happening.

Well he's 22-1 right now (I believe) and he avenged that loss to Williams. He's done a lot better in boxing than he ever did in K1 or MMA.
