lets not forget we're talking about primes here fellas, and i cant invisage the cal who fought lacy negating jones's speed, no one could, he was faster than most fighters in any weight division. im really trying to be objective and think of any advantages cal would have over roy but im really struggling

I would say Calzaghe's advantages would be his chin and his workrate but those wouldn't matter much in this match-up.

Everything Calzaghe has a prime Jones had more of it in spades. Roy had more speed, KO power in both hands and the big factor is that not only would Joe not have been able to hit a prime Roy, but he would not have been able to hurt him either even if he laid a glove on him.

Roy's style would have been perfect to hurt Calzaghe coming on the way in, it would have been a competitive, sometimes sloppy fight but Jones would win by a clear UD or even a KO if he turned it up a notch.

You are telling me to piss off because I think the "underdog" will win this fight? Why bother making this topic if you don't want to hear Calzaghe's fans view of it.You just want people to say Roy will win.

A good fighter like Kessler was able to have good moments against Calzaghe, a great fighter like Roy would knock Calzaghe out.

I say even this diminished Roy of today will have a great chance at beating Joe if they fight in 08 simply because of the styles. Roy still has that blazing hand speed!!
