I heard Margarito is moving back down to 135 where he started and is his original weight.

Shouldnt Floyd fight guys his own size just like everybody else is doing ..?
Why are you making excuses for floyd when he is in the welterweight division? And here you are making floyd look like he is smaller then he really is. If he was such a small fighter, with such a disadvantage he wouldn't have been able to hang with Delahoya don't you think so? So stop asking these ridicules statements.

Well you can't honestly tell me that you think De La Hoya's current set of skills even close to match Mayweather's, do you?

The size advantage for De La Hoya is the reason the fight was as close as it was.

Ricky Hatton looked better skillwise against Mayweather, and that fight wasn't nearly as close in my opinion.

This is a good thread, ignore the guys who can't be assed to do some reading.

What this comes down to is whether Floyd should simply do what is sensible for him and his career by protecting his interests, or whether as P4P king he has an extra responsibility to try and be the saviour of boxing by giving the fans what they want.

For me personally, Floyd is just another guy. So given the fact his career could end in any round of any fight, and he's only got a few years left in the sport, he is fully entitled to do what he wants irrespective of what we would all like. If he decides WW guys are too big and risky for him then we need to accept that because we ain't gonna be the ones changing his diapers if he goes the way of Michael Watson.

Floyd can do whatever he wants to do.

But for the marketability of the sport, it would be better to see him in competitive matchups with good fighters like Williams and Cotto who are marketable.

Maybe in a few years Juan Diaz could be a star, but for now, sorry, but he aint **** all. Fighting him wouldn't enhance the perception of J. Diaz, and certainly wouldn't enhance the perception of Mayweather.

                    Man, shut the **** up.

#1) You dont know what the **** you are talking about. You remind me of shawn where you are always attempting to smart.

                    Look, dip****.

Cotto could become a star even with a losing effort with Mayweather.

The only 'star' that is not going to retire in a year or two is Cotto.

Zag is out the door in a few.
Hopkins is out in a fight or two.
DLH is done in 2 more fights (he has said this publicly)
                    Mosley's done.
                    Barrera's out.

...that leaves Pac and Cotto and Pac is the only guy that can sell decent numbers without another big name opponent.

....these are the only guys that have consistently sold in PPVS (minus Zag, actually).

For the good of the sport, we need Floyd to make guys bigger stars.

Is that so hard to understand??????

Im ******, but this is your Logic..?

How many people became stars fighting Mayweather..?

If anything after Floyd beats People

                      People called them bums....

                      example:
                      OGLH
                      HATTON
                      BALDOMIR
                      JUDAH
                      GATTI
                      N'Dou 31-1-0 (30 KO'S) but after the fight he is a Bum!!

So how is your logic true..?
