Bute is a good fighter, but he is still quite far behind joe c, and kessler. after those 2 he is probably the best smw! he needs to improve his defense after the berrio fight he was swollen in the eyes quite badly which tells me he ate way to much leather from the primitive berrio! he has the potential to be great, but he needs to step it up now or it will be to late!

Why does no one ever talk about him? 6'2 Southpaw with good boxing skill. I'd bet he'd give Calzaghe a run for his money. Problem is the dude is just not well known yet.

Hes a tremendous fighter. But his style is similar to Kesslers.

Im a big fan that styles make matches. And im adament Mundine is the only fighter in the division that can give Calzaghe a close match. Why? His defence is better than Kesslers or Butes, and he is more technically correct. Hes probably not a better fighter than either. But technically he could cause joe C some problems.

Seriously Lucian has to be one of the most overrated fighters today. I see big things for him in the future.

Lucian Bute is nothing more than a titlist.

And this coming from a fellow Canadian.

He is a good fighter but Bika gave him a helluva run for his money. I had Bika winning around 4 rounds, and Bute did it in extremely ugly and boring fashion.

He's Canadian and I still don't like watching him. I'd rather watch Alcine or Diaconu any day of the week.
