Religion can change a man to either better or worse. I think in this particular case it could be argued that a man was changed for the better.

When he died, all I ever wanted to be was king of the tough guys to do Andy proud. The Gerald McClellan fight was just the cherry on the top.'
Can't believe anyone could treat that fight as an achievement. It was a sickening display.

i aint saying they aint ,point i was originally trying to make was Benn was getting pats on the back for figting the best & not ducking anybody etc

yet he ducked Nunn for obvious reasons ,ill bet u if he'd knew he would have had to fight McClellan he would have Defended against Nunn ,it just gets me how he gets patted on the back for fighting G-Man he had no choice if he wanted to keep his belt

What happened was Don King couldn't find an opponent for McClellan - nobody wanted to fight him. Nobody! Toney chose to fight Jones instead, for less money! Benn was down to fight Nunn in December, but King asked him if he'd fight McClellan instead and the winner would fight the winner of Toney-Jones (McClellan and Toney were expected to be the winners) and said he'd have to take $200,000 less if he went ahead with the Nunn fight. Benn said, basically, '**** you, ****, I want my money!', and Don told Nigel not to be a chicken and fight McClellan then. So Nigel went '****ing bring him. Bring him!'

Benn wasn't even the best fighter from the fab 3 of great britian.

I do have him in my crappy chins hall of fame though. If that counts for something.

What he was instigating though was he felt he was already 'king of the tough guys' before the McClellan fight

Benn came to the US a few times and fought them all, unlike Calzaghe.
Really, i'm quite surprised how there was no news of this. I've been waiting for the moment of these 2 men to meet for many years. Now i'm trying to find something and I come up empty.

Juyjuy, you're a man of sources, do you have anything about this?
