IRISH lightwelterweight champion Oisin ***an is looking for a showdown with Ricky Hatton -- if the Dubliner beats Pittsburgh's Verquan Kimbrough for the vacant USBA lightweight title at the Mountaineer Racecourse and Casino, West ******ia on Sunday.
"Promoter Brian Peters is talking of bringing Hatton to Dublin, so who better to give him a run for his money than myself," said the Dubliner, who has been based in Oklahoma for almost five years and has been the state lightweight champion since 2004.
Hatton, who was stopped in 10 rounds by unbeaten world welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas three weeks ago, has always expressed a view to box in Dublin.
"I would love to take on Ricky in Dublin, or anywhere else for that matter," said ***an, 34. "I think it would be a great fight and I hope it can become a reality. My own promoter Stacy Goodson has been gunning for a Hatton fight for the past year without success.
"It's true that I normally box at lightweight but it would not be a problem to put on an extra five pounds for Hatton. So after Kimbrough, maybe it will happen," added ***an who has a record of 20 wins and four losses, against the 25--year--old American's tally of 18 victories, one defeat and a draw.
Victory for ***an, who is billed as 'Gael Force' in the US, could put him into the IBF Top 10 world rankings as Kimbrough already holds the minor IBC and IBA belts.
