if you're trying to say that Mayweather is today's Sugar Ray? No, SRL engaged with and fought tougher competition.

      do you mean style?

If so not at all. The only fight sugar ever looked similar to Money May was in the hagler fight. But still it was very different because sugar throws combinations, and likes to FIGHT. He likes to get dirty and trade. He had much better p4p power than floyd. If you are impying that they do you obviously never actually seen a sugar ray leonard fight, and your jsut copying the announcers.

          ...and Duran 2.

I have always said that the criticism directed at Floyd for being "boring" or "defensive" is unfair. In the fights where SRL was outgunned or fought a stronger man, he was defensive and stayed on his bike.

In fact, PBF has never been as defensive as Leonard was vs Hagler. Marvin was actually saying "C'mon, you *****. Fight me" during the fight. Ray was shaking his head "no".

They are similar offensive fighters: alot of speed, stun you, then finish you. Ray has more power. They both have good chins. Floyd has better defense.

            Floyd fights nothing SRL.

Hes Pernell Whitaker mixed with a prime James Toney.

Hagler was the best slugger around (hence being the champion). If Ray Leonard was going to come from a two year (?) inactivity period to try and outslug a slugger when he is a better boxer, I doubt he would have walked away with the belt. Anyhow Leonard didn't just lay on the ropes the whole fight, when he was getting too pressured he flurried and punched impressive exciting combinations. That is the main reason why he won the fight. He didn't just pot shot and relax ala Mayweather.

To be honest, I'd compare De La Hoya more to SRL because DLH tries to steal the round in the last 30 seconds like lenoard did.

Mayweather fights really nothing like lenoard.
