most Champs that have multiple titles, they seem to wear the WBC on thier waist...the WBA, IBF...I've seen on the shoulders (Undisputed Mike Tyson) but i'll say Tyson wore WBC around his waist cause it was the first Title. Roy Jones too, wore WBC around his waist, other titles strapped around his shoulders. The World Boxing Association has been around longer, and it pretty much was "THE" Title, but when the World Boxing Council was established, there were loop holes in the sancutioning, or were waivered, and it became "EASIER" for Title fights, without bureaucratic tendencies. That is pretty much why there have been so many WBC Champions.

Gotta go with the WBC, however most of the boxing organizations are corupted. It would be nice if an disinterested organization outside of boxing could oversee the rankings.

The best title is the one worn by the champion. For example for a long time at Super Middleweight the best title was the WBO title because it was held by the guy to beat at the weight. At Welterweight it's the WBC title because Mayweather has it. Unless you think that Cotto deserves to be the true champ after he beat Carlos Quintana for the WBA title that Ricky Hatton vacated! At Heavyweight the best title is the IBF because Wlad has it and he's the guy to beat even though he hasn't won a linear title and he hasn't beaten any other titlists to end dispute. At featherweight the one to get is the WBA because Chris John is head and shoulders above everyone. At Jr Welter the best belt is the IBO because it's the one that Hatton has.

In short it ain't the belt, it's the waist that it goes around.

In a way, I can see what you're saying. One thing I might add is the time too, like what decade. In the 1980's Mark Breland was the man to beat at WBA Welter Weight. Just like in the 1990's The IBF Welter Weight title was held by Trinidad for 7 years. JJC made 27 succesful title defenses at WBC Light Weight. So yeah, you summed it it right...."It's the waist that it goes around".

I'll say The Ring is the best belt, easily. Look at my thread about worst Ring champion, and tell me that list of champions isn't about the best you can do (with the exception of lightweight).

yeah man, in the World Boxing Council you are not mandated to sign a contract with a rematch claus, and you DO NOT have to fight your manditory like the WBA! That's why Mayweather can pick and chose who he fights. Ever wonder why Oscar De La Hoya fought mostly for WBC?? And only fought for WBA 5 times, (twice with Mosely) one he lost to Hopkins, the only times he won...Vargas and Yory Boy Campas. Nobody Ever rematched De La Hoya except Mosely. (yeah, Julio Cesar Chavez too, but c'mon, he was over the hill) Mayweather is a talented Boxer....and he knows the loops in boxing like DLH.
