whitaker and mayweather don't fight much alike. they're just both slick fighters who are really good but not all that beloved. whitaker was a southpaw, relied more on his jab, was more unorthodox, threw more punches, and improvised more on strange angles.

joan guzman fights similar to floyd with their influences from floyd sr. shoulder roll, slick defense while defending (especially on the ropes). guzman throws a lot more shots though.

de la hoya and arguello are both tall and lanky but not all that similar.

quitali bitchsko is like a homeless man/b fighter's version of carlos monzon. they both fight ugly, like to use their reach, lean back from punches, and have a good sense of distance.

juan diaz and miguel cotto....well obviously diaz doesn't have the power and throws more shots, but their punching technique is similar, as often is their stance with their elbows tucked in, sort of a peak-a-boo defense, and all. they love to throw short hooks at mid range.

i agree with the Guzman 1

what im talking about with Whitaker ,Mayweather is how there movement & defensive skills ,Whitaker & Mayweather dont have the same busy lateral movement of Ray Leonard they conserve their energy more by staying in the pocket etc & fighting more defensively ,Whitaker probably puts more miles on his legs than Floyd does though

leonard didn't use his legs that much. he did against hagler and the duran rematch, and some of the hearns fight, but he really didn't go on his bike all that often.

Morales, Jorge Arce, and Humberto Soto all have very similar footwork and considering they all trained in the same place and know each other its no coincidence. Soto and Arce admit to the Morales influence.

mayweather used his legs a ton in the corrales fight. he was on the backfoot, using lateral movement, and boxing chico silly. he used them quite a bit in the bouts vargas, baldomir, castillo rematch, de la fishnet, carlos hernandez once he hurt his hands, etc...

Anthony Mundine and Roy Jones Jr.

Mundine's trainer is Roy Jones Sr, that's why.

Meldrick Taylor, Terry Norris, and Zab Judah are all cut from the same cloth.

so by definition PBF uses his legs more than Ray Leonard did

u are crazy if u think Leonard used less lateral movement than PBF
