Why Joe Calzaghe is #1 P4P

He beat the top two threats in his own weight class, and he defeated them both decisively and convincingly. Jeff Lacy and Kessler were both DOMINATED by Joe Calzaghe.

The only way to be P4P best is to rule your own weight class. Cotto vs. Mayweather would solve who is best at 147, but then Paul Williams and Margarito would have something to say about that.

Mayweather has talent no question, but he has not put it to the ultimate test by taking on the best at his weight class. Until he does he is basically a very talented . . . sideshow act with the right promoters and advisers backing and hyping him.

You gotta fight and beat the best to call yourself the best. Joe Calzaghe has done this.

Margarito has done nothing to prove he's better than Baldomir or Judah, so throw Margarito out

Paul Williams has one big win, which is less than Floyd has at that weight

Cotto has the best welterweight resume having beaten Mosley

Cintron has no big wins, so he's done less than Floyd

Basically, in terms of accomplishment at Welter, it's only Cotto and Mosley above Floyd. Mosley just lost so no need to fight him. Cotto is the only fight for Floyd that is worthwhile

some of you guys have to realize, when floyd was first becoming a weltweight, wililams was fighting on the undercards of him against guys like santos pakau, and cotto was fighting guys like oktay urkal, these guys were just hitting the scene in the welterweight division, mayweather went straight to the linear champ and then another champ, then challenged the 154 champ then someone called him out and he made him pay. I dont understand this floyd hate obsession
