Ring Magazine's light weight top 10

After the terrible performance and controversial decision Casamoyor had over Jose Armando Santa Cruz, does he still deserve to called the champion of the division? I mean both Juan Diaz and David Diaz would wipe of the floor with Casamoyor. Am I crazy or what?

    Ring Mangazine's ranking:

    C JOEL CASAMAYOR
    1 JUAN DIAZ
    2 DAVID DIAZ
    3 JOSE SANTA CRUZ
    4 JULIO DIAZ
    5 NATE CAMPBELL
    6 MICHAEL KATSIDIS
    7 YURI ROMANOV
    8 AMIR KHAN
    9 ZAHIR RAHEEM
    10ANTHONY PETERSON

I completely understand what you are saying but unless he gets a loss in the ring officiallly you can't just take a mans championship from him because he had a sub par performance.

That's one of the reasons I think the ring Champ belt is a bit of a joke, I mean the guy doesn't need to defend it and doesn't even need to hold one of the 4 belts to hold it, like Cassamayor, Pacquiao or Hopkins.

Interesting Juan is getting so much flack for facing his mandatory Campbell, who is at #5.

you lose your title by losing the fight (officially) in the ring, by retiring, or leaving the division.

not because you get a lucky decision.

otherwise, leon spinks never would have been heavyweight champ by beating muhammad ali, whom was lucky to beat norton, shavers, and young.

michael spinks was still linear and ring mag champ before losing to tyson, even though tyson had the 3 belts and spinks got a gift in the holmes rematch.

There's pros and cons to both.

Mandatories are good in theory but they turn out to be ridiculous. a guy can lose his belt for not facing a mandatory like morade hakkar, mark suarez, or richard frazier.

pacquiao is not ring champ by the way. pacquiao-marquez 2 is for the vacant ring 130 lb. championship.
