Heavyweight Timo Hoffmann has tested positive for an anabolic steroid after his loss to Alexander Dimitrenko on November 17 in Magdeburg, Germany. The 33-year-old Hoffmann (36-6-1, 20 KOs) has denied taking any banned substances and his trainer Uwe Schuster told SID that Hoffmann has retained a lawyer and wants the B sample tested. If the second sample is also positive, it could effectively end the career of the popular 6'7 fighter known as "The German Oak." His contract with Sauerland Event will run out December 31.
