Is a knockdown an automatic 10-8 round?

I always hear that it is not... but jesus, I have never seen a knockdown round scored 10-9.

The most extreme case was even scored 10-8 by Lederman.

Round 6 (I think) of Mayweather-Carlos Hernandez has Mayweather wiping Hernandez out, and then he breaks his hand, and puts his glove on the canvas without absorbing a punch. Hernandez really doesn't do a whole lot in the rest of the round either.

Lederman: 10-8 Hernandez.

What are your thoughts on this?

Tomasz Adamek vs Paul Briggs II is a perfect example:

Adamek is dominating Briggs in the 1st round until he gets caught with a left hook for a flash knockdown...Adamek gets up quickly and isn't hurt at all, he then proceeds to dominate the rest of the round.

Harold Lederman scored it a 10-8 round for Briggs, but 2 of the judges scored it 10-9 Briggs because Adamek dominated the round. Adamek ended up winning the fight by a close MD.

I score a knockdown 10-8 even if the guy that got knocked down was winning the round.

If the guy that got knocked down was dominating the round and got knocked down I'd maybe have him lose the round 10-9. I rarely do this.

Normally automatic 10-8.
