Smyth was a hot pro prospect who lost to Kevin Lueshing (who knocked down Felix Trinidad as well) and never really recovered from the loss

Calzaghe's last-ever loss came in July 1990 in Prague in the European Junior Championships, to this guy: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...4281&cat=boxer

It was Calzaghe's first-ever fight using a headguard as well as the first-ever southpaw he fought, and the headguard was too loose so Preda would just flick the headguard and spin off to annoy Joe, and out of a fencer's stance to befuddle young Joseph. It was a dodgy decision as well, being against an East European in East Europe, but Calzaghe took too long to figure the other guy out and gave away the first round and a half or so. (Preda went on to win silver in the 1991 world championships)

No losses in 17 1/2 years, not too bad.

It's quite good actually. But it's difficult to give him the Reid decision, so many overhand lefts and huge right hands landing on him, all the time in that fight

Well, he fought Mark Delaney, Robin Reid, Omar Sheika, Richie Woodhall, Mario Veit, Charles Brewer, Byron Mitchell, Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler, and was down to fight both Steve Collins and Bernard Hopkins only for both to pull out

Yer I remember reading about that in Joe's autobiography.
