Sultan Making Sacrifices To Beat Klitschko

HOLLYWOOD, FL – There will be no New Year’s Eve parties for WBO Heavyweight Champion Sultan Ibragimov. Instead, he will be preparing for a bigger prize as he gets ready to drop bombs on Wladimir Klitschko in their highly-anticipated heavyweight title unification bout on February 23rd at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Just once I want to hear a fighter say, well I didn't really prepare that well, and I am probably going to get my ass kicked....BUT i did it for the money.

I have a lot of respect for Sultan Ibragimov.

He could have chosen to hang onto his title for a year or two by first fighting Thompson, and then taking a couple of easy voluntary defenses. Instead, he's putting it all on the line and fighting the best heavyweight in the world.

I agree. I expect him to lose but he still gets my respect.

i see what youre saying, but youve got it wrong

sultan could get his ass kicked by tony thompson for a million bucks tops

or get knocked the **** out by wlad for 2-3 million minimum

i understand he gets no respect but tony thompson would whoop sultan to the tune of a very wide UD

sultan is too quick for tony thompson. now if he came in over 230lbs like he did for austin then thompson would likely give sultan a boxing lesson but the lighter in shape sultan is a different beast

sultan has the wbo, and wlad has the ibf??
so how does that make it a unification bout??
