Mayweather is too damm good for the ufc anyway. Like I said before in this forum, mma is a dirty white boy sport with the majority of its fans are ex- wwf fans who now follow mma. Boxing is a true sport with class, style, and money. The ufc is looking for attention thats why they want PBF to merge. They probably feel if Floyd does it other boxers might too and then they can get more attention.. Besides who really wants to see two ***s hold each other in weird ways and roll around and see who can get a better hold ? These dudes can even throw a decent punch.

how the hell can mayweather compete in mma??
FOR 1 , the guy is TOO DAMN SMALL!! DUH!, AND 2, its a different sport altogether.
I think mayweather going to mma is the most outrageous thing ive heard.
Even if he hits somebody flush, he wouldnt be able to stop them, he just doesnt punch hard enough, can't believe im even replying to this ****** thread!

                Marketing schemes..

Too much emphasis is currently being placed on whether or not "money may" will take on the world of mma as a competitor. This ploy mostly seems to be a publicity stunt concocted by mayweahter & cuban. If anything, I see him co-promoting various mma events with cuban, but him actually training to compete is a bit far-fetched. I dont agree with the fact that he's too old (for the record he's 30..not 31) because that age isn't considered "old" in any professional sport nowadays. Most athletes are just reaching their peaks during their late 20's & early 30's. For instance, kobe bryant will be 30 next year and there are no signs in his game that he's slippin'. He'll still be regarded as the best all around player in basketball even next year. With that being said, floyd is an accomplished athlete w/ a host of natural gifts. However, I doubt very seriously that he'd take the time to learn the areas of mixed martial arts that do not include hand skills. Not because he wouldnt have the athletic ability, but moreso because it would take away from his current pursuits outside of boxing. Not to mention, no one in mma makes anywhere near as much money as mayweather is currently making as a professional boxer (upwards of 50mil in his last two fights alone). Forget about it, this is promotion & marketing for cuban's HDNet venture at its best.
