Win or lose, he will be champ again, i dont see anyone at 168 that could beat him, that is untill Pavlik moves up. I dont think Pavlik is that much better and might very well lose this fight, i just think after a fight like that Pavlik will be in his head which is very tough to over come, similar to Mayorga-Forrest.

I believe if he stays ay 160, then he should fight one of the other 160lb champs (Sturm or Abraham). If he moves up to 168, then he should face Calzaghe (win or lose to Hopkins).
I would love to Taylor fight Abraham win or lose against Pavlik. I think it would make for a great fight. Both are very sound technically and can put some nice combinations together. I think it would be a 50-50 fight, and it would be good if the winner took on Kessler, all three could make exciting fights together.

Agree. My original point is Taylor must fight either a standing Champ or boxer with a sound record. I think if he fights a "warm-up" with a lesser boxer, it will do nothing to rebuild his reputation.

i mean granted if taylor comes out fighting scared to get hit , hes going to lose . but if he comes in and fights up to his abilities why cant he win this fight ?

i swear diff ref and pavlik fight is stopped and this whole place is saying ... so after pavlik gets knocked out again ( LOLZ PWNED IN 2 ROUNDS LOLZ ) whos a good fight for him ?

c mon guys lets give the man a chance here.
Jermain is my boy and everything but i just cant see him beating Pavlik at all.

its good that you still have hope but stick a fork in Jermain, hes done. Pavlik has so many advantages its crazy. Pavlik is on a 9 fight knockout streak and has all the confidence in the world. everytime Pavlik has stepped up, he has dominated or won impressivly. hes a freight train that is going to be hard to stop. even when Taylor hurt him and knocked him down, he was never really about to be stopped. matter of fact, he came back strong in that very same round. im betting almost all of my points on Pavlik because im conifdent, but Pavlik better not sleep on Jermain and slip up.

I always wondered what would happen when Jermain fought a puncher and now we know. I give him props for fighting Hopkins and Wright pretty well, but he has so many flaws, he's just really athletic. It must drive his trainers crazy that hopping thing he does, and moving back with his hands down.
Once Pavlik started, he couldn't miss him with the right hand. Damn Jermain, keep your left up when that big right is coming at you.
And Jerman used to have a good jab, a very nice jab. Where on earth did that go?

I would never count Jermain as dead, he's still young, just can't understand all the mistakes he makes.

Exactly, Jermains people did a good job of avoiding power punchers until Pavlik. he just has too many mistakes. i was thinking to myself, why would he continue to keep his hands down and back up on the ropes even when he is fighting a power puncher like Pavlik? its crazy. Jermain would have a good chance at beating Pavlik if he went back to his old style of things. i remember when he was an up and comer on ESPN and was fighting a man name Freddy Cuevas. back then he did everything right in my opinion. he boxed better and didn't get hit a lot, thats when he had his old trainer Pat Burns. well lets see how he turns out now that he has him back.

The real question is if he loses becuase now he is with a trainer who he completly trusts. I think Pavlik's in for another tough fight with Taylor and I see Taylor coming out victorious this time out.

I have to agree. I'm astonished by the number of people who have basically written off Taylor's chances.

After Taylor gets stopped again in the rematch I think he should have an easy tune up bring back my confidence type of fight against sum no name fighter then maybe headline a HBO Boxing After Dark against Edison Miranda.

I like Taylor but I dont think he is capable of beating Pavlik. Size , Power and Chin are all against him in the rematch.

I don't know about chin. Pavlik was down in that fight and if Taylor had been a little smarter and a bit fitter he would have taken Pavlik out.
