This fight is too close to call really. I'm seeing this fight as almost a restart rather than a rematch. Manny is more complete now. Marquez knows what to expect. Both SHOULD be in phenomenal shape and I think that will be the deciding factor. I think Marquez's "schooling" yet didn't do it easy of a 1 punch for 12 rounds is a testament actually to how this will play out if you have to look back. Marquez did well for the remaining 11 rounds after the first yet he was still getting tagged by 1 punch Manny threw all night. Let's not forgot Turdsak drilled Marquez all night with the left effectively until going down by Marquez's effective shots. Now imagine Manny still landing those left hands, yet so much more that he could do now? I would say this fight favors Manny in many aspects, as long as he comes in with his mind straight and in tip top shape.

the best Mexican who has the chance of beating pacman was morales and barrera... there's no way marquez can beat pacman. the only boxer who has a chance to beat pacman is Ugly Boy Floyd at 147lbs. i don't see any boxer at 130 or 135 to beat the Mexican Destroyer.Comment

i too remember pacman tagged by that left hook of larios early in round 1... but i too remember that after getting hit by a thundering left hook, pacman just shook his head and trade larios with heavy punches as if he was not hit at all! pacman has no real threat in 130 or 135lbs.Comment

Anyway, I've been looking forward to this fight for a long, long time. As everyone here has I'm sure. It will be a very difficult fight for both guys and I'm really struggling to pick a winner. If Pacquiao can come in with the same aggression he had in the first fight plus his newly acquired skills he will have a great chance to get the win. Marquez as of late has been prone to brawling more which could go against him in this fight. He has also been getting a bit slower lately which could also cost him. If he can come in with his old speed, stamina and skill and relax on the brawling I think the knowledge he gained from the last fight could see him out on top. As someone mentioned he has a tendency to eat the straight left as well. He will need to have really worked on that for this fight. If he can avoid that punch or make it obsolete by circling to his left all the time I would give him the nod.
Marquez's age has been showing up in his most recent fights. Whether it's from a lack of training and motivation that he has slowed and is getting caught a lot more than usual or purely from the processes of age creeping in could be a big factor in this fight if Pacquiao comes in in great shape. I hope he can get regain his old form of the first fight so it won't be a factor.
Either way, bring it on!!!

Admittedly that is something that drives me up ****s creek about Pacquiao, the fact that he slacks on his training and still wins. I have to give credit where its due. On the other hand, I believe Marquez' boxing ability and tactics to be superior to Barrera's and after watching his fight against Vazquez who he made "look like a sparring partner" also, he will give Pacquiao all he can handle. His age is not showing the way Barrera's did. I'm not saying Manny doesn't have the power or the skills, as he has clearly improve, to end it early because I know what he's capable of. The difference I believe between Barrera and Marquez is that I think Marquez will keep a calm head and not get frustrated the way Barrera did which I think was the downfall of his performance against Pacquiao. There is a reason why Marquez still sits in the top 10 p4p list and Barrera doesn't.Comment

I think Pac is going to win this fight & possibly stop JMM. In the first fight I think people get so caught up in how JMM was able to recover from the first round that they think Pac lost every single round after that which I don't think is true at all. JMM is declining as a fighter & I think he peaked that night against Pac. I've been noticing it more & more in his fights with him getting hit much more than he has in the past. His fight with that fighter Terdsak Jandaeng, & Jimrex he was hit way more than he ever had. He also has to remember that Pac isn't the same one handed fighter he fought back in 04.Comment

Focus is the key
I think Manny can win against Marquez. In the first fight, Pacquiao didn't know how to utilize his right hand. But now he is a more complete fighter, however he still lacks the technical skills. The most important thing about this fight is focus. Is Pacquiao going to be focused? Will he show to training camp on time? Unlike an aging Barrera, Marquez is highly motivated and he's been on a winning streak also.Comment
