    Light Heavyweight lineal title

I don't understand the situation fully. Why is Erdei the lineal champ?

I know he follows Michalczewski, but is the argument that DM's lineage goes back to Hearns/Barkley by way of Henry Maske, Virgil Hill, etc., or is it a different line?

d.m. and hill were 1-2 in the division when they fought.

roy jones had just lost his last fight thanks to his fouling and montell's acting.

So there's no argument that Hill was lineal champ prior to losing to DM?

boxrec lets you see where a title, say the wbc, changes hands, couldnt you just do that?

I did that. But it's kind of confusing because the alphabet belts jumped around and the so-called 'lineal' title is nothing you can see on boxrec. It's the IBF that's in question here I suppose.

We have a winner! Then went to Tarver, then went to Johnson, back to Tarver, to Hopkins.

The Roy line is the better line.

The 'lineage' was simple: When Hill and Maske fought, the only other titlist was Tiozzo, whom Hill had recently beaten. That's it. Process of elimination. Moves on from there.

**** the lineage in this case. DM didn't fight outside of his country for the most part and he chose to cling on to his WBO title for way too long.

Roy basically clearned out the Light-heavy divison unifying all but the WBO belt. In this case, the lineage means as little as the lineage where George Foreman lost his linear title to Shannon Briggs.
