Its a shame Dokes went on ******* as he had very good skills. It was amazing that he could come back from his problems and his legs where gone but even then he put up a hell of a fight against holyfield. Is he still in prison?

Dokes was very promising, though lacking of the boxing ability of a Page or Tubbs.The drugs robbed him of at least a very good career.

I loved Dokes hand speed lol. People say that the 80's heavyweights where rubbish but they weren't they just ruined there own careers. Anyone have any of dokes early career fights?

I loved his hand speed, too, especially looking at it after 20-something years.I was more of a Page fan, but Dokes was more focused, threw tighter combos, and more connected than Greg was.I did have his fights vs Ball, Cobb, Ocasio I & II, and Gardner.

Wasn't this voted the best heavyweight fight in the 80's by the Ring Magazine? I think it was.

Lyle vs Foreman was great because it was two of the hardest hitters ever going at it and it was a great slugfest but people who appreciate technical ability might find it a bit overrated.
