what this thread is implying that Margarito just calls out Floyd to help his career and thats it. If he got a shot, he wouldnt fight him? So calling out the best in the sport is just a marketing ploy and thats it? Floyd is the best out. Why shouldnt he call him out?

PBFM had already become recognized as the #1 P4P fighter in the world before he fought Oscar. He had already medaled in the olympics & went on to beat Hernandez, Manfredy, Diego, Castillo twice, & Mitchell. He had headlined PPVs with Gatti, Judah, & Baldomir also. Oscar wanted a fight with Floyd because it would be his greatest victory & it was the biggest fight that could be made in the sport. So what you are saying has no logic.

That's one of the most ridiculous statements regarding PBF that I've ever read. Of course he needed ODLH. If that fight wouldn't have happen, he would be no where near where he is today. He would just be another popular fighter along the ranks (in regards to popularity) of Miguel Cotto. I mean, his fight prior to DLH was against Carlos Baldomir. Carlos ****ing Baldomir.

The same thing can't be said about Margarito. The only reason he is/was talked about at all was because of PBF. That is hardly the case w/ PBF.
          Helped in what?

            You. Are. ****ing. ******.

Mayweather has had 1 fight since his snoozefest w/ Oscar. 1 fight!

Oh, so his millions upon millions of dollars, a **** ton of fans, belts in numerous weight classes, and p4p recognition as #1 all came after the ODLH fight?

            Brilliant!

how much did the Baldomir/PBF fight do in terms of numbers? Previous fights after that? POPULARITY is not indicative of P4P status you ****ing moron. I know he was the P4P best during that time but he was not star he is now. Is that really hard for you to comprehend Gary? The fight with Oscar De La Hoya is what propelled him to the forefront of Boxing popularity, not elite you ****** cumbucket. What you are saying is that even without the fight with Oscar, he would be were he is at today. That is incredibly ******. PBF NEEDED ODLH to be able to make the money he is making now, to be able to sell the fights he is selling now, to be able have groupie stans suck him off as your are doing now.

You can be the best in the world but if nobody gives a ****, it doesnt matter.

With the exception of ODLH himself, Floyd was/is easily the 2nd bigget draw in all of boxing. Cotto, in terms of excitement, might be able to make headway if he continues to win impressively and Floyd slows down. Floyd all ready was the most recognized boxer of the time w/ the exception of ODLH.

Don't try to feed me some bull **** about Floyd needing Oscar. Oscar might've been #1, but Floyd most definitely was #2.... maybe #3 at the lowest.

I feel whay you are saying. But Margarito had a chance to fight Cotto & Winky but somehow those fights never happened. P Wiliiams was his mandatory or he was going to lose his belt. Instead of just constantly stalking the smaller Floyd, why doesnt this guy take any & every fight possible to build up his own legacy? (Golden Johnson doesnt count)

i completely agree my homie. He had misteps that have put him in the position he is not. I was just saying that he shouldnt be hated on for calling out the best. As you stated, he should work on building his resume, proving his worth, in terms of marketing, and also showing that he could be competitive in a fight with PBF. Glad to see someone posting thought out replies unlike el pendejito Gomez.

Maragrito has every right to call out Mayweather but the problem is he also has major options in Cotto (Same promoter) or take the Williams rematch, I feel him losing to Williams brought him back down a peg though.
